Toilet cubicles
Full-height & floor-to-ceiling cubicles
Full-height toilet cubicles have walls and doors that run from floor to ceiling with no gaps at the top or bottom. They give complete visual and much better acoustic privacy, and they are the usual way to build the fully enclosed, self-contained toilets described in Approved Document T.

Full-height and Approved Document T
Since 1 October 2024, Approved Document T in England has set out how toilet accommodation in new non-domestic buildings and material changes of use should be provided: single-sex toilets for men and women, or fully enclosed universal toilets where space does not allow. A universal toilet is a fully enclosed room with its own WC, washbasin and hand drying. Full-height cubicle systems with a basin inside are one of the most efficient ways to build them.
Construction
Panels are typically compact laminate or thicker flush-fronted board, fixed to the floor and ceiling or a bulkhead, with full-height doors on concealed or continuous hinges. We plan lighting, ventilation, smoke detection and sprinkler coverage with your M&E team, because closing the gap at the top changes how the room is served.
Where it suits
Offices, hospitality, gender-neutral or mixed-use buildings, student accommodation, healthcare and any project where privacy is part of the brief.

Frequently asked questions
Do full-height cubicles need their own ventilation and lighting?
Usually, yes. Once a cubicle is closed to the ceiling it needs extract and lighting inside, and it may affect fire detection and sprinkler layouts. We coordinate this with your electrician or M&E designer at survey.
Are full-height cubicles required by law?
Not in every case. Approved Document T applies to new buildings other than dwellings and to material changes of use in England, with exemptions such as schools. Where it applies, fully enclosed universal toilets are needed if space prevents separate single-sex toilets. Your building control body has the final say.
