Toilet cubicles

Commercial toilet cubicles

Commercial toilet cubicles are the partition, door and pilaster systems that divide a washroom into private WC compartments. We survey the room, recommend the right grade for how hard the washroom works, then supply and install the cubicles, usually in one or two days for a typical run of four to eight.

Which cubicle grade is right?

The grade comes down to moisture, traffic and budget. Melamine faced chipboard (MFC) suits dry, low-traffic staff toilets. Compact laminate, also called solid grade laminate (SGL) or compact HPL, is a solid 12–13mm board that shrugs off water and impact, so it is the default for offices, schools, gyms and public buildings. Flush-fronted systems give a seamless, hotel-style finish. Full-height cubicles run floor to ceiling for privacy and are how many new buildings meet Approved Document T.

What a cubicle installation includes

A full installation covers a measured survey, a layout drawing for your approval, manufacture to your sizes, delivery, fixing of panels, pilasters, headrail and doors, and fitting of locks, hinges, coat hooks and door stops. We set doors to self-close or rest open, check every lock can be opened from outside in an emergency, and leave the room clean.

Standard sizes and layouts

A typical cubicle is about 800mm wide inside and 1500mm deep, with a door around 600mm clear. Where a room has four or more cubicles, guidance in Approved Document M recommends one enlarged cubicle about 1200mm wide, and each separate-sex washroom should have an ambulant cubicle with grab rails and an outward-opening door. We draw this out at survey so nothing is missed.

Frequently asked questions

How much do commercial toilet cubicles cost?

As a guide, supply and installation runs from about £380 to £620 per cubicle for MFC, £620 to £1,050 for compact laminate, £950 to £1,650 for flush-fronted systems and £1,350 to £2,600 for full-height cubicles, ex VAT. We confirm a fixed price after a free survey.

How long does it take to fit toilet cubicles?

A run of four to eight cubicles is usually fitted in one to two days once the room is ready. Manufacturing lead times are typically two to four weeks from drawing sign-off, depending on material and colour.

Can you fit cubicles outside opening hours?

Yes. We can phase work and fit in the evening or at weekends so a building can keep at least one washroom open.
